kvoop.exe high cpu while copying pdf files

Whenever I try to copy a pdf file (tiny or big, does not matter), kvoop.exe shows high cpu usage for an extended time. This is followed by high cpu usage for edpa.exe. The 20kb file can take upto 30seconds to be copied. It also does not matter if I am copying on the same SSD (to a different folder) as the source drive or to an external USB 3.0 drive. This behavior is observed only for pdf files. If I copy ISO/zip/mp4 files as large as 6GB, they get copied in less than a minute.

What can be the reason and how to solve it? It is extremely frustrating.
