Clients not checking/updating after server cert replacment

I need a solution

The SSL cert on our SEPM server had expired.  It was not possible to just renew the cert because the type of cert that we used to use is no longer available to us.  I requested and received the proper cert, finally got it properly installed, and have the system working like it should, except... our clients still don't seem to be getting updates like they should and they aren't running the scans that were scheduled in policies like they should.

With the cert changed, must we go back and deploy new communications settings to all of the clients?
