We had a production environment where we are not using SEP as AV there and its all Sophos I think. few days back we had an event 7030 numbered event which states like "The VPRemote Install Bootstrap Service service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly." happened in 30 servers. Initial investigaiton by level 1 techies fond that VPremote install bootstrap is a service related to Symantec and they asked us to own the responcibility to solve this error. But we are not using SEP in our environemnt and this alert is confusing to us now. All programs in these servers has 2 programs which are "Symantec Netbackup cleint" and "Live update 3.3". These 2 programs showing SOurce as Symantec corporation and so we were asked to own this. Now, I forgot to tell you that I am part of Backup and recovery team and so I case logged with Veritas and they said it might be with Symantec and so my basic google brought me back to this forum.
What is this error all about and why its exisitng in those 30 servers when SEP is not part of it? Its a million dollar quesiton in my whole company now and everyone is banging their heads and passing on the ownership to all technical teams.
In all 30 servers this error occured almost at same time with seconds gap. All are windows 2012 sevrers. We also has a deplyment packaging team where they use SCCM tool (from Microsoft) to deploy any packages to servers.
Can someone tell me how should i approach here and if possible the root cause of this alert?
