Duplicate clients on Symantec Endpoint Manager

I need a solution

Hello,

I am facing an issue with Symantec Endpoint Manager (SEPM). I have opened a support case  but I ask in the Forum, maybe someone got the answer.

I really dont know from wich version I got the issue (maybe 12.1 or 12.1 RU2), but for months I got that problem.

I explain the issue.

I use a Windows 2008 x64 server with SEPM 12.1 RU X (doesn't matter with RU it is).

On the SEPM, I got almost each day duplicate clients.

Each client installation is unique. We do not clone machines with Symanec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client on it. We deploy manually Symantec on the machines using the client deployement wizzard.

Several times per week, I got an email from SEPM saying that "the machine MACHINE123 has been added to the group" and looking on the SEPM console, I can see 1 or several offline machines MACHINE123, and 1 online.  Everythings are the same in the client properties except the unique ID generated by the manager.

So, for an unknown reason, SEPM generates different unique ID for the same machine, causing duplicate clients.

I have done one test : stopping and restarting the Symantec client service tens times : It makes tens duplications of the client in the SEPM console.

Even if with the last update 12.1 RU6, the issue occurs.

So, does anybody got an idea to stop clients duplication ?
